The Department of BSc. Economics held a symposium on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on January 8, 2020, in Taimani Campus. The focus of the seminar was on raising awareness to Kardan University students and the general public on SDGs.
8th January 2020, The Ministry of Economy (MoEC) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan organized a one-day awareness-raising workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at Maiwand Institute of Higher Education, in Kabul.
Following progress made by the Government of Afghanistan towards the nationalization of SDG targets and the commitment made at the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Executive Committee – the high-level coordination and decision-making platform for SDGs in Afghanistan
The SDGs awareness workshop held in the MoEC, the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) staff in the MoEC and the representatives from the sectoral ministries participated in the workshop
The two days A-SDGs targets and indicates prioritization workshop opened at the Afghanistan Ministry of Economy (MoEC) on 19th February 2019, The 3rd working group under the SDGs Executive Committee and officials from the MoEC participated at the workshop for the first day.
Despite some improvements, leadership positions across the board are still held by men, and the economic gender gap is widening, thanks to outdated attitudes and entrenched male chauvinism.
